Concord Detectives, NH AG Investigating Deaths On The Heights

Police and the NH Attorney General's Office are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple at Concord Gardens apartment complex.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the Concord Police Department are investigating the deaths of a couple who were discovered early Friday morning on the Concord Heights. The investigation involves an elderly man and a woman at the Concord Gardens apartment complex. Police and firefighters were called to one of the apartments off Ormond Street at around 4:10 a.m.

Firefighters were asked to stage for the police — which is code for preparing for casualties or medical assistance. A second ambulance was called to the scene not long after the first firefighters arrived.

A woman discovered the bodies of the couple, unconscious and bleeding, with a knife by one of the bodies. The ambulances cleared the area around 4:30 a.m. Local police, New Hampshire State Police and state officials were still at the scene at around 7:30 a.m. Investigators were seen leaving a second apartment, a few doors down from where the bodies were discovered, with an evidence bag and a young woman by their side.

"At this time, this matter appears to be a contained incident and all individuals involved have been identified," according to Kate Spiner, the public information officer for the NH AG's Office. "Further, there does not appear to be any threat to the public."

The identities of the two individuals are being withheld until next of kin have been notified, Spiner noted in a statement on July 19, 2019. She said autopsies have not been scheduled but more information would be release, when it becomes available, while still protecting the integrity of the investigation.

Concord NH Patch will update this post when more information becomes available.
