U.S. Marshals Track Down 3 New Hampshire Fugitives In 24 Hours; 4 Arrested In 2 Weeks
John David Eggleton IV, Mark Donald Gagnon, and Justin Dean Hayes, fugitives wanted in September and January 2019, have been captured.
CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force captured three fugitives — one from January 2019, during a 24-hour period.
A fourth fugitive was also arrested on Sept. 8.
John David Eggleton IV, 55, was featured more than three and half years ago after failing to appear in Strafford County Superior Court on second-degree assault and other charges. On Thursday, he was tracked down in Deer Park, New York, while working at a machinist. Members of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force-Long Island arrested Eggleton without incident, Andrew Grillo, a deputy marshal, said.

“Eggleton had reportedly been living in Brentwood and trying to maintain a low profile, but a misstep did not escape the watchful eye of Suffolk County Sheriff’s deputies,” Grillo said.
Eggleton will be brought back to New Hampshire upon the conclusion of an extradition hearing in Suffolk County.

Another fugitive, Mark Donald Gagnon, 59, was featured two weeks ago after failing to appear in U.S. District Court to answer to multiple violations of his federal supervised release conditions. He also had an active reckless conduct-deadly weapon charge out of Manchester from June. Grillo said the task force eyed leads and tracked Gagnon down in Naples, Florida.
“Deputies from the U.S. Marshals Service Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division, and Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force used the intel from New Hampshire to locate Gagnon — who was living in a small cargo trailer on 7th Street,” he said.
Pending a warrant of removal hearing at the federal courthouse in Fort Myers, Gagnon will be brought back to New Hampshire, Grillo said.
Justin Dean Hayes, 30, a child sexual assaulter from Florida accused of failing to register, was featured Wednesday. The public filed “multiple leads” with the case. But two Manchester police officers found him in Veteran’s Park on Wednesday.
“Hayes initially tried to discretely flee the area,” Grillo said, “but the officers were able to locate and take him into custody in an alley off Chestnut Street.”
Hayes was fresh on the officers' minds due to the circulation of information, he said. He has updated his registration information and been released, Grillo said.
A fourth fugitive — Justin Brady-Muller, who was featured in August, was also caught on Sept. 8, Grillo said. Manchester police arrested him at the La Quinta Hotel on Front Street.
“The U.S. Marshals Service enjoys a vast network of law enforcement partners that help us cast a wide net,” Chief Deputy Marshal Brenda Mikelson said. “I would like to thank the local, county, and state agencies across the nation that help make our districts and task forces so successful at ensuring fugitives have their day in court.”
