CONCORD, NH — A Vermont man is scheduled to appear in two New Hampshire district courts after being arrested this week on his second drunk driving charge. Robert Harris, 26, of St. Johnsbury, VT, was arrested on April 23, 2019, and charged with driving while intoxicated-subsequent, conduct after an accident, reckless driving, and resisting arrest or detention. At around 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the New Hampshire State Police received numerous reports about a Hyundai Sonata driving erratically on I-93 North between Concord and New Hampton, weaving in and out of lanes, tailgating, and passing vehicles in the breakdown lane.

Not long after the initial calls, a trooper in Holderness spotted the vehicle “speeding and continuing to operate erratically” as it passed by her, according to Staff Sgt. Victor Muzzey of the NHSP.

The trooper caught up to the vehicle in Campton and stopped it. After stopping the vehicle, state police learned that it had reportedly been involved in two vehicle collisions, in Concord and Plymouth. Harris submitted to “a battery of field sobriety tests,” according to Muzzey, and was then arrested.

During the booking process, Muzzey alleged that Harris was fighting with the trooper so a resisting charge was added to his docket. Harris is due in both Franklin and Plymouth district courts to face charges.

NHSP are looking to speak to witnesses to the crashes or the alleged erratic driving. If you have information about the case, contact Trooper Lori Terhune at 603-223-8767 or Lori.Terhune@dos.nh.gov.
