CONCORD, NH — A woman from Loudon faces felony threat charges after being accused of firing a gun during a domestic dispute in a Concord Heights shopping center.

Around 3 p.m. on July 26, officers were sent to the Dollar Tree on Loudon Road for a shots possibly fired report. Dispatch told officers at least one caller was reporting a woman pointing a handgun at a man during a domestic, a shot was fired, and then the couple left the area. New Hampshire State Police troopers also arrived to assist.

An officer spoke to a man in his late 40s who accused Jennifer Lane, 40, of Route 129 in Loudon of pointing a gun at and threatening him, according to an affidavit. The report stated he then walked away and heard the gun being fired.

The report said the man said they were an “on and off” thing, for about six or seven years. The man provided police with a picture of Lane holding what appeared to be a handgun, which was pointed at the ground, the affidavit stated. He claimed she fled the area toward Old Loudon Road.

Two officers walked around Old Loudon Road while others searched Portsmouth Street, Sheep Davis Road, and Loudon Road, looking for Lane, but could not find her. After about 20 minutes, officers returned to the Dollar Tree and reinterviewed the man. The affidavit said he was asked whether Lane pointed the gun at him, which he claimed she did. When asked if anyone else was there or witnessed the incident, he said, “No,” and started to raise his voice, appearing to be upset with the officer, the report said.

“Do your f------ job and find Jennifer,” the reporting officer claimed he said. “I never should have called you.”

The reporting officer requested a copy of the photo from the man’s cellphone, but he refused, the report stated. He also refused to write or be recorded on video offering a statement, the officer said and left the scene. Later in the day, police received a copy of the photo.

The reporting officer returned to headquarters to write an affidavit when they were called back to Old Loudon Road about 20 minutes after an officer found Lane. She was read her Miranda rights and told officers she and the man had been arguing all day, the report said. When they were both at Popeyes on Loudon Road, she jumped off the man’s motorcycle, stating she did not feel safe, an affidavit said. Lane denied pointing a gun at the man, the officer said.

“I asked Jennifer if she threatened (the man) today, and she stated, ‘Maybe I might have said I was going to kill him,’” the affidavit said. “Jennifer stated they both said that to each other, but she did not mean it.”

When Lane was told police had a photo of her with the gun, she stated it must have been “edited” because she was confident she did not have a gun, a report said.

Lane was then arrested on criminal threatening-deadly weapon and domestic violence-criminal threatening charges, both felonies, and taken to police headquarters to be booked and processed. She was reinterviewed and was accused of continuing to deny the gun threat incident.

Lane was released on personal recognizance.
