Sex Offender, Drug Arrests Made By Nashua, Hudson Police

A Granite Shield sweep the week of March 29 led to five arrests — with police utilizing a New Hampshire Substance Abuse Reduction Grant.

NASHUA, NH — Late last month, more people were arrested by Nashua and Hudson police as part of a Granite Shield operation in the Gate City.

Sgt. John Cinelli, the public information officer and communications division supervisor for the Nashua Police Department, said the people were arrested “for various drug crimes, crimes frequently associated with criminal behavior related to drug activity and other criminal offenses.” The officers were operating under a New Hampshire Substance Abuse Reduction Grant, he said.

Bryan Cashman, 38, was arrested on two felony counts of possession of methamphetamine. Courtney Lee, 42, was arrested on an active capias warrant as well as a felony possession of fentanyl-subsequent charge. Rodney Maulding Jr., 37, was picked up on an electronic bench warrant. James Menento III, 37, was arrested on a felony sex offender registration-knowing failure to comply. And Mitchell Rose, 27, was arrested on two felony counts of possession of meth.

All five were released on personal recognizance bail and are due in Nashua District Court at a later date.

Cashman, according to superior court records, was arrested on a controlled drug act in May 2015, a charge that was nolle prossed later. In March 2021, he was accused of theft, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass charges in Pelham and acts prohibited and driving after revocation or suspension in Hudson. The Hudson charges were nolle prossed later, but the Pelham charges, based on an arrest in September 2022, are still active and expected to go to a jury in August.

Lee, in 2005, was arrested for burglary in Hudson and criminal liability and forgery in Nashua. She pleaded guilty to the forgery count in January 2007. A charge for criminal liability for selling a controlled drug from June 2019 was nolle prossed.

Maulding has been arrested before during a Nashua sweep, getting caught up with 30 others in February 2019. He has at least a dozen arrests dating back to October 2008, when he was charged with felony theft-criminal liability and pleaded guilty. Other charges include acts prohibited, theft, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, drug sale, violation of probation or parole, falsifying physical evidence, and deal-possess prescription drugs.

Menento is a sex offender due to possession of child sexual abuse images and indecent exposure and lewdness convictions from June 2021. He has also been convicted on criminal mischief, vehicle registration suspension, driving after revocation, prohibited sales, bail jumping, disobeying police, breach of bail, and hindering apprehension.
