Four Charged At Spaulding Turnpike Sobriety Checkpoint
NHSP: Nearly 250 vehicles were screened in Portsmouth during a Seacoast sobriety checkpoint last night and this morning.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The New Hampshire State Police held a sobriety checkpoint on the Spaulding Turnpike in Portsmouth last night and into this morning and arrested four people, according to a press statement. Arrested were: Matthew P. Haddle, 35, of Dover, for driving while intoxicated; Taira L. Harrison, 23, of Lynn, MA, for transporting drugs; Shawn J. Meyers, 27, of Dorchester, MA, for possession of a controlled drug; and Raymond J. Smith, 29, of Lynn, MA, for false reports to law enforcement and open container. According to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A, 247 vehicles were stopped and screened.

Haddle is due in court on Aug. 14. Harrison, Meyers, and Smith are all due in court on Aug. 28.
