5 Busted In 3-Month Manhunt For Killers In Asbury Park (UPDATED)

Five were arrested after a three-month manhunt for the killers, prosecutors said.

Five people were arrested following a three-month manhunt in the shooting death of a beloved up-and-coming chef, a New Jersey man who garnered his love for cooking while attending the Rugby School.

Suspects were also arrested in connection with a separate "brazen" daylight shooting incident this summer, and they were charged with weapons-related offenses and other serious charges, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

The arrests were largely made in connection with the June 14 shooting death of Jehadje Jaquan McMillian, 23, of Neptune, another victim in a series of violent gun incidents in Asbury Park in recent months, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

“The violence this summer on the streets of Asbury Park and Neptune Township cannot be tolerated – law-abiding citizens of these communities cannot be forced to live in fear of these gun-toting criminals. No one should live in fear to walk on public streets outside your home. Our office will track down these criminals, we will find them and get them off the streets where they do the most damage to families, friends and neighborhoods,” Gramiccioni said.
