ASBURY PARK – Asbury Park has been shaken by a recent spate of shootings and violence. The Asbury Park Press sought to find out what police are doing about it.

The Asbury Park Press recently rode along with Paul Butkoff and members of his patrol who navigate the streets of the city’s West Side with the goal of curtailing the violence, the report said.

They rode on a largely quiet on this November night, "a lull following a summer and fall season in which outbreaks of gunfire frequently shattered the peace," the report said.
