Bomb Threat Causes Evacuation At ShopRite In Bound Brook
This marks the fifth bomb threat reported in Somerset County in just over one week.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A bomb threat caused the ShopRite in Bound Brook to be evacuated on Thursday afternoon.
Bound Brook Police Acting Chief Richard Colombaroni confirmed a bomb threat was reported at the grocery story at W 611 Union Ave. at 10:37 a.m.
ShopRite management made the decision to evacuate the store for a brief period while officers responded, said Colombaroni.

Officers found the threat was not substantiated, said Colombaroni.
ShopRite has since reopened for business.

This marks the fifth bomb threat in Somerset County in just over one week with more also reported in the surrounding areas.
The most recent threat was on Wednesday afternoon at a ShopRite in Franklin Township.
On Monday, a bomb threat was also reported on at a ShopRite in Hoboken. Two bomb threats were also reported on July 12 in Somerset County. One threat was reported at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset located in Somerville and another at ShopRite in Branchburg. Read More: 2 Bomb Threats Reported In Somerset County
A bomb threat was also reported at the Walmart in Watchung and in East Brunswick on July 11.
Following the threats, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) said they are investigating. Read More: Homeland Security Investigating Bomb Threats Across Somerset County
"We are working with local, county, state and federal partners to determine their origin. At this time, they appear to be noncredible; however, all threats are being reviewed, assessed and shared with appropriate law enforcement entities throughout the State," said NJOHSP Spokeswoman Maria Prato.
