Burlington County Couple Waives Appearance In $400K GoFundMe Case
Mark D'Amico and Kate McClure waived their pre-indictment appearance in the alleged $400K GoFundMe scam Wednesday, the Courier Post reports.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ - Two of the three people charged in connection with a $400,000 GoFundMe scam reportedly waived their pre-indictment court appearances that were set for Wednesday.
Mark D’Amico and Kate McClure had been scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6, but waived that appearance, the Courier Post reports. There are no future court dates currently scheduled in the case.
Johnny Bobbitt, the homeless vet also charged with conspiracy and theft by deception in the online fundraiser, is next scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22. He is trying to enter a pre-trial intervention program, and that court appearance is a status hearing in that case.

The program is a diversionary program that permits non-violent first time offenders to avoid criminal prosecution. As part of the program, he would admit to some form of guilt, and would be subject to restitution.
The stated goal of the fundraiser was to help Bobbitt get back on his feet after he struggled with addiction for years. His addiction began when he was working as a medic in North Carolina, and he moved to Philadelphia with the intention of starting a new life. However, a job he had lined up fell through, and he soon found himself once again feeding his addiction and living on the streets.

All three were charged in November, about a year after the fundraiser was launched. D’Amico and McClure surrendered at that time, but have not yet appeared in court, as they also waived their initial court appearances.
