BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One person was injured when a New Jersey Transit train hit a bus in Garfield Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The No. 66 train on the Bergen County Line hit the front of the bus that was partially stuck on the tracks just before 5 p.m. Monday on Midland Avenue near the Plauderville station, said Jim Smith, an NJ Transit spokesman. One person on the bus was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Smith said. Fifteen people were on the bus. No injuries were reported among the 100 passengers on the train.
