Injured Hiker Rescued From Sourland Mountain In Hillsborough
Hillsborough Fire, Police and EMS went to the mountain on Sunday morning to help.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — An injured hiker was rescued from Sourland Mountain by Hillsborough emergency responders on Sunday morning.
At 11:31 a.m. on July 7, officers went to the Sourland Mountain at 421 East Mountain Road along with Hillsborough Fire Departments, Hillsborough OEM, and Robert Wood Johnson BLS for the report of a hiker (46-year-old man) with a leg injury, said Hillsborough Police Lt. Scott W. Mc Carthy.
"Due to known terrain issues, and extreme temperatures," Hillsborough Fire Company 1 along with Fire Station 38 and 48 were called to the scene.

Crews used UTVs to access the victim about a mile up from the parking area and complete the rescue, said Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1.
The man was taken down the mountain by emergency personnel. The hiker declined medical treatment, said Mc Carthy.

All emergency responders were cleared from the scene by 12:25 p.m.
