2 Holmdel Vehicle Burglaries Reported Last Weekend: Cops
Two vehicle burglaries on residential driveways were reported over the weekend. At least one vehicle was unlocked, according to police.
HOLMDEL, NJ – Two separate instances of in-vehicle burglaries were reported over the weekend, according to the Holmdel Township Police Department. The Saturday and Sunday incidents mark the latest reports in a string of vehicle robberies throughout Monmouth County, with similar reports in Manalapan, Hazlet and Freehold in recent weeks.

Holmdel police responded to a reported vehicle robbery on July 18, according to a social media post from the department. Per police, an Aspen Court resident saw an individual rummaging through a family members’ vehicle parked in the driveway at approximately 10:55 a.m. After the resident began to confront the subject, the individual ran down the street and fled in a dark colored Porsche SUV.

The subject is described as a tall, thin younger Black male wearing a surgical mask and a while baseball jersey with tan sleeves.
On Sunday morning, Holmdel police responded to a similar incident reported by a resident of Holmdel Road. The resident’s unlocked Honda Civic had been burglarized while parked on her driveway at approximately 7:19 a.m., according to Holmdel police. The contents of the vehicle were reportedly dispersed throughout the resident’s front yard.

Residents are reminded to lock their cars and to stow any valuables, keys and fob out of sight when vehicles are left unattended.
