• Long Valley Man Who Assaulted 10-Year-Old Gets Sentenced (patch.com) — Long Valley residents are learning that a 72-year-old local man has been sentenced to prison after repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old over the course of a year. Investigators say the abuse occurred at his Long Valley home and led to the discovery of child sexual abuse material and other evidence. He will serve five years, face lifetime parole supervision, and must comply with Megan's Law.
   

• Property Fraud Workshop Coming To Long Valley (patch.com) — Long Valley homeowners will have a chance to learn how to guard against property and deed fraud at a free workshop in October at the Washington Township Community Center. Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi will explain common real estate scams and show residents how to use the county's free Property Alert Service. Advance registration is required through Washington Township Recreation.
