Coast Guard Saves 3 Off Highlands Saturday

The U.S. Coast Guard provided these dramatic photos of the rescue Saturday afternoon off Highlands, NJ.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — A Coast Guard boat crew rescued three people from a capsized vessel near Highlands, New Jersey, Saturday afternoon. The U.S. Coast Guard Sandy Hook station provided the following images and information about the rescue:

While on routine patrol at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Coast Guard crew from the Sandy Hook station witnessed a nine-foot John boat overturn, sending the passengers into the water.

The response boat immediately diverted to the scene and rescued the three people from the water. The individuals were brought back to shore in Highlands.

There were no injuries reported.

The Coast Guard reminds boaters to keep a close eye on the water conditions and know the limits of your boat before heading out.
