Monmouth County Fair Kicks Off Wednesday Night

The best part of summer is here! The fair runs Wednesday-Sunday, July 27-31 at the East Freehold Showgrounds.

The Monmouth County Fair opens at 5 p.m. on Wednesday night, July 27 at East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road in Freehold. Opening night brings the Monmouth County Firefighters Association’s Hose & Ladder Competition at 7 p.m., performances by the Amish Outlaws at 8:15 & 9:45 p.m., and fireworks at 9:15 p.m., weather-permitting.

Organized and presented by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H, this five-day event runs Wednesday-Sunday, July 27-31. Each day offers rides, family entertainment, 4-H shows and exhibits, Home & Garden competitions and demonstrations, touch-a-truck, a produce stand run by the FFA, a Made in Monmouth Tent, and more. Fair highlights include the trapeze act the High Flying Pages and returning favorites Robinson’s Racing Pigs and Bwana Jim Wildlife Show. Additional acts are Hilby the German Juggler, Scott’s Crazy Comedy Magic Show and Mutts Gone Nuts.

Other entertainment includes live musical performances by Dr. Cheeko on Thursday, Rockit! Count Basie Live on Friday, and Jet Weston and His Atomic Ranch Hands on Saturday. These performances are at 8:15 and 9:30 p.m. On Sunday, The Chuck Lambert Band takes the stage at 12 & 1:45 p.m.

Fair rides are once again provided by Reithoffer Shows and will feature a separate Kids Zone Ride Area. Ride wristbands will be available on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday for $25 per person. These wristbands allow fairgoers to enjoy unlimited rides during their session. Tickets for the rides will be available daily. Please note that rides are weather permitting.

Fair hours are 5-11 p.m. on Wednesday-Friday, July 27-29; 3-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 30; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 31. Admission is $8 per person; children 12 and under are free.
