Golf Course Management Company to Present to Mayor and Council

Kemper Sports will explain what management companies do for municipalities

A golf course management company will give a presentation to the Mayor and Council and the Golf Committee Tuesday at the Life Safety Complex.

Representatives from Kemper Sports will be in Paramus to explain what management companies can do for the Borough and and give examples of their work at other municipal courses.

Councilman Michael Rohdieck and Borough Administrator Joseph D'Arco are exploring management options for the Paramus Golf Course, including hiring a private company like Kemper Sports to manage the course.

"I want to make sure we get them in so everyone can see directly what they do," Rohdieck said.

Rohdieck said the Kemper Sports presentation could be the first of a few. He and D'Arco have also met with representatives from Billy Casper Golf, another course management company.

Hiring a management company is still only an option, Rohdieck said. Whatever the governing body chooses, Rohdieck said the Borough would still have control of the course.

The presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m. in one of the classrooms in the Life Safety Building.

"This is an opportunity for the committee, the council and the public to get a sense of what a management company can do for Paramus," Rohdieck said.
