Westwood hosts a benefit baseball game to raise money for underprivileged families.

With the world in an economic downturn, high unemployment and banks foreclosing on thousands of homes, the Township on Westwood decided to do something. For the seventh straight year, Mayor John Birknor and Westwood Cares hosted a benefit baseball game. The teams were made up of Westwood High School alumni baseball players, current Little Leaguers and other residents willing to have some fun. All players were asked to donate $20 and the money was donated to a Westwood family in financial need.
