IHA Junior Excited About Next Season

Casey Fazio and the Blue Eagles swim team enjoyed an undefeated season and a state championship this past season.

Fazio also enjoyed individual success when she earned first team Big North All-League Honors, along with first team BCWCA All-County Honors and first team from The Star Ledger All-North Jersey Honors. These awards are very humbling to Fazio.

"It’s nice to know your hard work pays off and it’s a great feeling being
able to swim for and be a part of such a winning tradition," said Fazio.

Relays, backstroke events and IM events are Fazio’s specialties. She has been a part of some special and unique moments and seasons.

“For the past three years at IHA I have been part of a special feat that very few athletes get to achieve and that is being undefeated for three straight years," Fazio said. "It has been such an amazing experience being able to swim for coach Schlereth and being able to share this with such a great group of girls."

Fazio said swimming for Head Coach and Athletic Director Jason Schlereth has helped her.

“Swimming for Coach Schlereth has been a great experience. He knows how to motivate us and bring out the best in every swimmer. I look forward to another great year swimming for him," Fazio said. "This past season was another great year. Being able to win another state title is always a great feeling. The most memorable moments for me were winning the county and state championships because that is our goal every year and to achieve that is such an honor.”

The goals for Fazio and the rest of the team remain the same for next season.

“Next year I hope to help lead my team to another undefeated year and continue with the winning tradition,” Fazio said.
