Bellmore Teen Gets His Own Planet
Kennedy High School student has planet named after him in honor of his run in the 2015 Intel Science Talent Search.

A Kennedy High School senior now shares a name with a planet.
Minor Planet (30273) is now called planet Samepstein after 17-year-old Samuel Epstein, of Bellmore.
The planet was named to honor Epstein’s achievement as a finalist in the 2015 Intel Science Talent Search.

Epstein was one of 40 students from around the country to be selected as a finalist for his project, “The Effects of the Modulation of TOR Signaling and Microbial Exposure on Feeding Behavior in Drosophila melanogaster.”
