Mepham Teacher Honored by Harvard Club

Harvard Club of Long Island named Bellmore-Merrick educator a 2015 Distinguished Teacher.

Wellington C. Mepham science teacher Lorrilee Geraci was recently named a Distinguished Teacher of 2015 by the Harvard Club of Long Island.

Geraci is one out of twelve teachers from across Long Island to receive this award, which seeks to recognize extraordinary people who expend uncounted hours and vast amounts of energy to transform the lives of Long Island teens.

Geraci has taught at W.C. Mepham for 22 years. She teaches AP Psychology, Advance Living Environment and Advanced Science Research. At the March meeting of the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD Board of Education, Geraci was recognized with a citation.

The Harvard Club of Long Island is comprised of Long Island-based members of the Harvard University community, from professors to honorary degree holders, to alumni. The Harvard Club fosters academic rigor through cultural and educational activities on Long Island throughout the year.

Geraci will be honored at a special brunch hosted by the organization on April 26.
