Village Officer Puts Out Fire at East Hampton Village Home
The fire started at the garage on a Pondview Lane home.

The East Hampton Fire Department responded to a fire at a home on Pondview Lane in East Hampton Village on Monday afternoon, according to The East Hampton Star.
A village police officer was the first to arrive to the scene after the call came in at 12:15 p.m. and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire which started in the garage, according to The East Hampton Star.

Fire Chief Richard Osterberg Jr. believes the fire was caused by fireplace ashes which had been left in a garbage container, according to The East Hampton Star.
