Paving Company Employee Hit by Truck Critically Injured in Hicksville
Accident occurred in Wednesday afternoon, police say.

A man working for a Deer Park paving company was critically injured in an accident in Hicksville Wednesday afternoon, Nassau police said.
According to police, a 55-year-old employee of Tri-State Paving was on the sidewalk at South Oyster Bay Road and Walter Avenue to assist other employees placing a portable traffic sign onto the trailer hitch of a truck when the man stepped off the sidewalk and was struck by the truck, which was slowly backing up, at 2:48 p.m.
The man, whom police did not identify, suffered multiple fractures and internal bleeding, police said. He is in critical condition at the hospital.

Police said there is no apparent criminality at this time in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
