U.S. News Ranks Garden City High School as Best HS on Long Island
Rankings released Tuesday put GCHS at the top of Long Island.

Garden City High School is the top public high school on Long Island, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The latest rankings, released Tuesday, put the school at No. 12 in New York State and No. 90 in the country.
Garden City’s ranking improved from 2014 when it placed fourth on Long Island.

Rankings are based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness with regard to Advanced Placement exam scores, and proficiency in mathematics and English.
Of the 88 percent of GCHS students who take AP exams, 80 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 97 percent of students are proficient in math and 98 percent are proficient in English.
