Voter's Guide: Great Neck School Budget, Board Election

Residents in the Great Neck School District will vote on the $216,697,754 proposed budget for the 2015-16 school year on Tuesday, May 19.

The proposal calls for a 1.23 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.56 percent tax levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

Candidates are looking to fill two Board of Education seats. President Barbara Berkowitz and Trustee Donald Ashkenase are seeking reelection.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Voters who live north of the Long Island Rail Road can vote at the Baker School. Residents who live south of the LIRR can vote at the South High School.
