Huntington Community First Aid Squad Honored for Providing Rapid Assistance to Officer Collins

The Suffolk County Police Officer was shot twice on the night of Wednesday, March 11.

Huntington Community First Aid Squad volunteers were honored on Tuesday for providing rapid assistance to a wounded Suffolk County Police Officer in March.

Officer Mark Collins was seriously injured after being shot twice during a traffic stop in Huntington Station on the night of Wednesday, March 11.

HCFAS volunteers quickly provided life-saving assistance to Collins, who was able to survive his wounds.

In a presentation proclamation, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone cited the important services HCFAS offers to the Huntington-area community.
