Levittown's 'Paint the Principal' Raises More than $6G
Summit Lane Elementary students more than double their previous record.
Summit Lane Elementary School students in Levittown exceeded their goal of raising $4,000 for the American Heart Association and, as promised, gathered in the gymnasium to paint Principal Keith Squillacioti.
“You showed how big your hearts are,” said physical education teacher Cynthia Dano. “Each of you tried to do something that benefitted someone else’s health.”
This is the 15th year that Summit Lane has participated in the annual American Heart Association’s Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart event. Last year, the school raised $2,500 and set out to exceed that number by setting a goal of $4,000. Two hundred and twenty students collected $6,530, the school’s largest amount of donations to date.
