Man crossing at North Long Beach Road in Freeport was struck by oncoming car Tuesday night, cops said.

A man has died after he was struck by a car while crossing Sunrise Highway in Freeport, according to Nassau County Police.
The 53-year-old male victim, whose identity has been withheld by police, was crossing the busy highway at North Long Beach Road at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday, cops said. As he tried to cross, he was struck by a 2013 Subaru driven by a 49-year-old man, police said.
The victim was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later, detectives said.
