Lynbrook Native's Song Makes Final Round in Worldwide Competition
Danny Weinkauf is a member of Grammy-winning band, They Might Be Giants.

Lynbrook native Danny Weinkauf, the long-time bassist of They Might Be Giants, is a finalist in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition.
Weinkauf has been honored for his song, “Elephants (Get Out of the Way)“ in the children’s music category.
The annual competition honors a total of 68 winners for their creativity, originality, lyrics, melody, arrangement, and overall likability, according to their website.

The competition awards winners with dozens of gifts, including hand-built Lowden Guitars, performance equipment, subscriptions to music programs, and a grand prize of $25,000 cash.
They Might Be Giants won two Grammy Awards for their music and has certified gold and platinum albums under its belt.

Winners will be announced in April.
