Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Long Island

Will things clear up for Easter Sunday?

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Long Island, which will also see some rain and strong winds before what is shaping up to be a pretty nice Easter Sunday.

The dense fog advisory goes into effect at 6 p.m. Friday and lasts until 6 a.m. Saturday. Visibilities on the roadways will be a quarter mile or less at times, the NWS says. The fog will start to dissipate after midnight as the wind increases.

Showers are likely the rest of Friday, with a thunderstorm possible after midnight. Things will dry up on Saturday and the temperature will be near 52, but wind gusts topping 40 mph will make it feel much cooler.
