1. Town of Oyster Bay Invites Residents to Free Family Fall Halloween Festival (longisland.com) — Massapequa families are invited to a free Family Fall & Halloween Festival at Marjorie R. Post Community Park on Saturday, October 24, from 1–4 p.m. Kids can enjoy pumpkin picking, games, inflatables, and a hayride, while food trucks offer treats for purchase. Costumes are encouraged for all ages.

Massapequa unveils new gym (longislandpress.com) — Massapequa High School has unveiled a fully renovated main gym, featuring a brand-new floor, upgraded bleachers, modern lighting, and fresh athletic branding to better serve classes, games, and school events. District leaders say the project, part of a long-term capital plan, preserves decades of athletic tradition while expanding capacity and comfort for students and spectators.
   

3. Massapequa names top-ranked scholars (longislandpress.com) — Massapequa High School has named Liam Chernick and Anthony D'Orlando as valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2027, recognizing years of rigorous coursework and activities. Both students balance advanced classes with music, sports, and community service, and are already planning futures in engineering and the medical field that grew from their experiences in Massapequa schools.
   

4. Massapequa turf becomes reading space (longislandpress.com) — Massapequa High School's turf field recently transformed into a cozy evening reading spot, where older students read to about 175 young children from the district's six elementary schools. Organized by local educators and supported by district leaders, the event highlighted literacy, school spirit, and community connections while giving high schoolers a chance to earn service hours.
