Search Conducted At Massapequa Preserve After Discovery Of Human Remains In Freeport: Report

Police found human remains during a search of Cow Meadow Park on Wednesday morning.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - State Police are conducting a search in the Massapequa Preserve following the discovery of human remains in Freeport on Wednesday morning, according to a report in News12.

Nassau Police confirmed that human remains were state troopers, FBI and Homeland Security agents during a search of Cow Meadow Park at about 8 a.m.

State police also confirmed that they brought dogs to the scene, and they are trained, among other things, to sniff out bodies.

A few hours later, shortly before 4 p.m., News12 reported that both state police and Nassau police were searching for human remains in the Massapequa Preserve about 7 miles away from the Freeport park.

On Friday, Nassau County police recovered the remains of 16-year-old Angel Soler, of Roosevelt from a wooded area in Roosevelt.

In April, 19-year-old Julio Cesar Gonzales-Espantzay was found dead in the Massapequa Preserve. Two MS-13 gang members and two other have been arrested in connection to his murder.
