25 Days Of Holiday Volunteering — Day 14: 'Elves' Needed Soon!

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out through the holidays and help others.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering from home.

Today's opportunity is for the Youth Community Outreach Program (Y-COP) of Mount Vernon. The organization needs "elves" for its annual Holiday Grab and Go Toy Giveaway for children in the community. "Elves" are needed soon: Wednesday, Dec. 15, Thursday, Dec. 16 and Friday, Dec. 17 for sorting and bagging toys, decorating parking the lot, setting up toy stations and helping with toy giveaways.
