MOUNT VERNON, NY — Gun violence touched the life of a high-ranking member of the Mount Vernon Police Department in a very personal way. Now, police say a teenage gang member has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left her son wounded.

According to multiple reports, including the NY Post, a 14-year-old member of the Mac Baller gang was arrested for the shooting of Mount Vernon Police Department Deputy Commissioner Jennifer Lackard's 17-year-old son on a Bronx bus last month.

The suspect was reportedly arrested on Wednesday after he threatened someone with a gun at a Bronx bus stop, according to the Post. NYPD then linked him to the Jan. 21 shooting of the 17-year-old.
