Deborah Pittorino Of Cuvée Bistro & Bar Leads Dairy And Gluten-Free Cooking Class At Tifereth Israel

Deborah Pittorio, owner and executive chef at Cuvée Bistro & Bar (326 Front St., Greenport, NY 11944 [631] 477-0066 www.thegreenporter.com) will lead a “Dairy and Gluten-free” cooking class at Tifereth Israel (500 4th Street, Greenport, NY 11944 (631) 765-6848 www.pbirman.com/tifereth/) on Thursday, May 10 from 6 p.m.  to 8:30 p.m.  Pittorino will teach attendees three easy dairy-free, gluten-free dishes in one session.  The evening will begin with a cooking lesson from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and recipes include: Yom Tom soup with coconut milk, Asian herbs and vegetables and “Catch of the Day” served with quinoa-edamame pilaf garnished with pico de gallo.  A group meal with the prepared food will be served with fruity sangria with Kesser wines from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.  Each attendee will also receive a container to-go with enough of the meal for lunch the next day. The cost to attend is $40 per person and the funds will be donated to the Daughters of Israel.  Space is limited and reservations MUST be purchased in advance by calling The Greenporter at (631) 477-0066. 

 

In addition to the students, a representative from North Fork Parrish (69465 Main Rd Greenport, NY 11944 [631] 477-6607) and Community Action Southold Town (CAST) (311 Front Street, Greenport, NY 11944 [631] 477-1717 www.cast-inc.org/home) will join the group as guests. Their goal is to return to their non-profits with new ideas for inexpensive, but healthy dishes to help feed those in need by teaching people to cook for themselves on a budget.
