Coast Guard Station Eatons Neck Breaks Ground on New Boathouse, Maintenance Facility

Project includes a 9,000 square-foot, state of the art facility, to include a drive-through boat bay, a new launching ramp, maintenance shops and offices for personnel.

The United States Coast Guard recently broke ground on a new boat house and maintenance facility at US Coast Guard Station Eaton's Neck.

The $6.5 milllion project, funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will provide a 9,000 square-foot, state of the art facility, to include a drive-through boat bay, a new launching ramp, maintenance shops and offices for personnel.

The new building will resemble the previous boathouse, built in 1936, and blend with the existing historical buildings on site. It replaces the old boat house that was destroyed in a 2008 Christmas Eve fire.
