U.S. News Ranks Elwood High School Among Best Schools in New York
Over 400 New York high schools were recently ranked.

The verdict is out on the top high schools in New York State after U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Tuesday.
Several schools on Long Island made the list, including Elwood John H. Glenn High School.
The latest rankings put Elwood at No. 112 in New York State. There were 439 New York high schools that made the rankings.

This makes Elwood the twenty third best high school on Long Island, according to the rankings.
Rankings are based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness with regard to Advanced Placement exam scores, and proficiency in mathematics and English.

Of the 43 percent of Elwood students who take AP exams, 38 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 87 percent of students are proficient in math and 90 percent are proficient in English.
Elwood has a 15.5:1 student to teacher ratio.
