South Nyack Village Election Is Tuesday — Maybe For The Last Time
Residents will vote whether to move local elections to November.

SOUTH NYACK, NY — South Nyack residents are considering deserting the company of Grand View, Hillburn, Montebello, New Hempstead, Upper Nyack and Wesley Hills. They go to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to join Haverstraw, Nyack, Spring Valley and Suffern, Rockland villages that hold their elections in November.
Also on the ballot, running unopposed, are two village trustees — Andrew Goodwillie and Alain Leinbach — and the village justice, Dennis Lynch.
Polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. at South Nyack Village Hall at 282 South Broadway.

The referendum on the ballot would move South Nyack's elections from March to November and have the Rockland County Board of Elections administer Village elections and maintain voting records.
A majority of the Village Board voted to place this question on the ballot so that the residents could vote on it. A sample ballot is available for your review on the Village website.

"Since there are "pros" and "cons" to moving the election to November, Nyack Library is gracious enough to have fliers available at their Circulation Desk that present different views regarding this ballot question," village officials said.
