Route 134 Closure Will Stretch Into October
Thank goodness for the clear map from the Ossining Police Department's social media division.
OSSINING, NY — Work at the intersection of Route 134 and Route 9A in Ossining hasn't ended in September as promised. The bent T-shaped stretch of Route 134 and Croton Dam Road between Hawkes Avenue and Feeney Road will continue to be closed until 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6, state transportation officials announced Friday.

Use the posted detour. We think the written detour instructions are insane (see our version of them here from Sept. 8) but the Ossining Police Department's social media division as usual came through with something easily understandable:

Crews from the New York Department of Transportation are replacing a culvert at the intersection. The Ossining Town Highway Department has taken advantage of the DOT's work to replace a storm-water pipe underneath the road.
Use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers andall traffic control devices, including signs.

Remember that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license
