Nassau Subway Knifepoint Robbery Part Of Pattern

The robbery occurred Tuesday night.

PLAINVIEW, NY - A Plainview sandwich shop was robbed on Tuesday night was confirmed to be part of a similar pattern of knifepoint robberies that have occurred in Nassau County since February.

The man entered Subway on 1022 Old Country Road, displayed a large knife to the store employee and demanded money from the cash register at 7:50 p.m., police said.

The male clerk opened the register and the robber grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The man then fled the store in an unknown direction.

The robber is was described as being 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, wearing a dark knit cap with a brim, a dark colored scarf covering his face, dark colored jacket, jeans, gloves and tan shoes, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The following knifepoint robberies in Nassau were confirmed to be part of the pattern:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 16: Attempted robbery at Dunkin' Donuts, located at 4007 Merrick Road in Seaford. Read more here.

A similar robbery has also occurred in Suffolk County. A Carvel in Lake Ronkonkoma was robbed at knifepoint on Sunday, April 2. It is not confirmed if this robbery was fount to be part of the pattern.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding these robberies to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
