5-Year-Old Girl Hurt in Miller Place Crash, Father Charged With DWI
Sound Beach man faces a felony charge after crash Saturday morning.

A Sound Beach man faces a felony DWI charge following a crash in Miller Place Saturday morning that injured him and his 5-year-old daughter, police said.
According to police, 26-year-old Matthew Wyllie was driving a 2007 Honda when he crashed into a tree in front of 9 Audobon Gate at about 8:45 a.m.
Wyllie, who police say was impaired by drugs, sustained a head injury. His daughter suffered an injury to her femur as well as lacerations to her face that required stitches, police said. They were both treated at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Wyllie was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI with a child 15 years old or younger–a felony under Leandra’s Law–and endangering the welfare of a child. Child Protective Services was notified, police said.
