Incoming Port Jefferson Middle School sixth-graders were introduced to their new school during a Welcome Back-To-School BBQ.

Incoming Port Jefferson Middle School sixth-graders were introduced to their new school during a Welcome Back-To-School BBQ, held on Aug. 20.

During the annual BBQ, students met their new Principal Robert Neidig, Assistant Principal Claudia Smith and several middle school teachers. They also toured the school and received their locker assignments. Parent volunteers were on hand to serve a tasty dinner of hotdogs and hamburgers to all attendees.

The annual BBQ is an opportunity for students to become socially acclimated with their classmates and school while also celebrating the start of the school year.
