Drag Queen Story Hour Slays Coronavirus
Brooklyn Public Library presents Miz Jade reading books, singing and moving through the outbreak by livestream on Tuesday.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — It may be homebound for coronavirus but Drag Queen Story Hour promises to still dazzle the house down.
Brooklyn Public Library and Miz Jade will hold a virtual drag queen story time Tuesday at 11 a.m. They promise to have book readings, songs and movement activities for children ages 3 to 8.
"Through storytelling and creativity, DQSH teaches children about gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable," BPL's website states.

The library system closed its doors weeks ago to help stop the new coronavirus' spread. It has continued to offer an assortment of online, virtual offerings to keep Brooklynites and their families edified and entertained through the pandemic.
Drag queen story hours fit into the public library's mission of exploring who were are as a culture, a BPL release states.
