PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A long-awaited new Flatbush Avenue restaurant has officially has opened its doors, but only to drinkers.

Edie Jo's, a casual new American eatery on Flatbush Avenue and Fenimore Street, began serving from its bar menu on July 5 and will begin serving food later this month, owners wrote on Instagram.

Local drinkers are welcome to stop by for wine, beer or cocktail between 5 p.m. and 12 a.m., dinner service will begin on July 22, and breakfast and lunch service will eventually follow, owners wrote.

The restaurant — which was initially slated to open in May — will be a casual spot to grab a beer and some classic American fare, owner Benjamin Toro told Flatbushed bloggers last year.

"It's not going to be fancy with white tablecloths," Toro reportedly said. "I want this to be something that will fit in here."

The restaurant claimed a space that has long stood vacant on the ground floor of The Parkline, the new 24-story development that went up in 2016. Edie Jo's is next to the independent bookstore, Greenlight, and across the street from Scoops, which has stood on the corner for 34 years.

The restaurant has accrued more than 500 followers on Instagram who were happy to celebrate the opening of Edie Jo's.

"So excited to have you here," commented Elle Park.

"Thank you for such a warm and inviting space," added Andre Tirenin. "Here’s to great success!"
