LI's Molloy College Preemptively Closing In Face Of Coronavirus
Though the school has had no cases of the virus tied to it, classes are going to be suspended for more than two weeks, officials said.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Molloy College announced today that it would be cancelling all in-person classes for the next two-and-a-half weeks as the novel coronavirus continues to spread across Long Island.
All in-person classes are cancelled between March 11 and March 28, the school said. Faculty will offer alternatives to in-person instruction.
The school is taking the move as a precautionary measure. No cases of coronavirus, or COVID-19, have been associated with the school yet. All campus activities are also cancelled until March 28.

Molloy joins a growing list of colleges in the area that are cancelling classes. Hofstra University announced yesterday that it was suspending classes for a week. And Nassau Community College just announced that it was cancelling classes through Wednesday after a case of coronavirus was tied to the school.
As of this morning, there are 20 confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Long Island, with 19 of them in Nassau County. There are 173 people around the state infected, and dozens on Long Island were ordered into quarantine.
Though the disease is spreading, public officials have urged people not to panic and to go about their daily lives. Still, you should avoid areas with high concentrations of people. If taking the bus or train and you see it is very crowded, wait for the next one if possible, officials said.
