Catch Em' if You Can: A Look at Go Girl! Fitness Finale Run
Two-month walk/run fitness program concludes with special finale event.
On a recent Saturday 36 participants in the Go Girl! Healthy Walk/ Run Fitness program graduated from the 12-session effort with a two-mile finale event at the Grange in Sayville.
The girls, ages 7 to 11, had spent the last two months walking and running while also learning about healthy habits. The program is run by Kiersten Bartolotta who operates Walk To Run Fitness in Sayville that teaches people how to run their first 5k charity run through walking and running. Β She also runs walking classes.
She started the Go Girl! Healthy Walk/Run Fitness Program for Girls in April and sessions were held at the Long Island Sports Plex inΒ SayvilleΒ (formerly known as the ISA) or outdoors at a local park.Β Β

Sheβs already started running the second Go Girls program given the first effortβs success and is seeing more athletes with special needs and development disabilities becoming involved.

Here's a look at photos from the finale event which included four laps in and around the green area during the weekly Farmerβs Market. All finishers received a medal as race efforts are not being timed and no βplaceβ awards are being given.
"It was an incredible day with parents cheering on their girls as they reached the finish line," said Bartolotta.
