Police: Man Arrested After Trying to Break Into Patchogue Home
Incident occurred Monday morning.

A Brentwood man was arrested on Monday after he tried to break into a Patchogue home, police said.
According to police, Fifth Precinct Sergeant Kit Gabrielsen and Officer Bryan Lawrence responded to a residence on East Woodside Avenue, east of Maple Street, at about 11 a.m. after a caller reported a suspicious person outside of the home.
The man, who was attempting to pry open a window with a screwdriver, fled when police arrived, police said.

Gabrielsen and Lawrence followed the man behind the house and through the woods and arrested 41-year-old Felix Rodriguez in a nearby sump.
Rodriguez is charged with second degree attempted burglary, resisting arrest and possession of burglar’s tools.

Rodriguez will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
