Mastic Man 1 Of 2 Nabbed In Deer Park Attempted Bank Robbery: PD
He passed a teller a note demanding cash, but the teller refused so he left emty-handed and was caught with his driver, cops say.
MASTIC, NY — A Mastic man was one of two people Suffolk cops say tried to rob a bank in Deer Park on Thursday afternoon.
Dominic Scotto entered Chase Bank on Grand Boulevard and handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said, adding that the teller refused, so Scotto left the bank empty-handed. Scotto and his driver, Adam Postiglione, were arrested in front of the bank, just before 5 p.m., police said.
Major Case Unit detectives found that Scotto robbed Chase on Vanderbilt Parkway in Commack on Dec. 21, then eight days later on Dec. 29, Capital One on Jericho Turnpike in Commack and a few hours later, HSBC just down the road, police said. The final robbery was at Citibank on Larkfield Road in East Northport, on Jan. 3, according to police.

The two Commack banks were robbed over the span of a couple of hours, with the robber passing a note threatening tellers with violence, police initially said.
Scotto, 31, of Mastic, was charged with four counts of third-degree robbery and attempted robbery, as well as an outstanding parole warrant. Postiglione, 32, of West Islip, was also charged with third-degree attempted robbery.

Both men were held overnight at the 4th Precinct, and their arraignment date is pending, according to police.
