Dad Seeks $10 Million In Damages In Connection To Little Leaguer Death
Gregg LaPenna is suing for improper or lack of medical equipment at the park where his 10-year-son died.

LONG BEACH, NY — The father of a little leaguer who died after suffering an epileptic seizure is suing the Town of Hempstead, accusing it of failing to provide proper equipment or training that could've saved his son.
Gregg LaPenna said the park and ambulance failed to give adequate treatment to his 10-year-son Lazar. He died after collapsing on the base paths in April.
Evan Richards, the attorney representing LaPenna, said if the Town of Hempstead, which owns and operates the park, had a defibrillator on hand, "Lazar would still be alive today," Newsday reported.
