The student council started the contest to make-over the school's lobby showcase.

The Westhampton Beach Middle School Student Council recently held a new school-wide art contest to make-over the school’s lobby showcase.
The winner of the contest was eighth-grader Elina Rulchmanova.
Rulchmanova, who recently moved to the area from Russia, said it took her two weeks to design the showcase, which now adorns a hand-drawn clock, bordered by pink butterflies.

Aside from proving to be an excellent artist, Rulchmanova’s teachers say she is a very thoughtful student and excels in math.
